Great Burger Joint
Great burgers. Cold beer. Good atmosphere. I was in town for a 4 days and ate @ The Thurman twice. Excellent place to have some wings, burgers, beer, and watch the game. My only negative was the wait to get a spot at the bar or a seat. But when its as good and The Thurman, one should expect a wait.

I went to Thruman’s for the first time last Friday…what a GREAT experience. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger w/ Cheddar, Fries, and Fried Pickles…THE BEST BURGER EVER!!! Well seasoned….just excellent . LOVED the fried pickles and fries…GREAT dining experience in general!!!

This place is amazing. I live about 40 minutes away and will be there as often as at all possible. The A1 burger is unbelievable. If you like A1 sauce, you have to get this burger. From what i hear you cannot get a bad burger at this place.

We went on a Saturday night. Be prepared for a wait. We waited for about 3 and a half hours. Which let me clear it up, is 100% worth the wait. I ordered the Thurman burger which was approx the size of a small condo. Hands down this was the tastiest burger I have had in my entire life, and I have had a lot of burgers. The atmosphere is amazing, and your guaranteed a good time and amazing food. There is a reason for the crowd there, it’s almost a cult following, once you have had a taste of a Thurman burger you’ll come back for life.

My boyfriend and I ate at Thurman’s on Thursday December 3rd, 2009. It was awesome! We have been meaning to go ever since we saw the man virsus food episode. We live an hour and a half away, and we finally made it! Awesome!!!! We got the regular Thurman Burger and it was a huge sandwich but very good!

Ok, lets start off with the bad bits:
The place is pretty small & depending on what time you get there parking can be a bit crappy & you may have a long wait…. Thats the bad stuff.
Now the good stuff:
Food is GREAT, service have always been good, price is no more than you’d pay as the other casual dining places BUT it is soooo much better than all of them.

I stopped at The Thurman Cafe while travelling through Columbus. I saw the Thurmanator on Man vs. Food and it was bigger in person. It was awesome and I finished it. The service was even better than the burger. I will stop there every time I go through Columbus. Great job, guys!!!

A went for the first time to the Thurman Cafe on Friday (09-12-09). I ordered the jalapeno bottlecaps for an appetizer and the Thurman A1 burger.
Let me just say, the food was awesome. The burger was huge. It was juicy and so delicious. You’d be hard pressed to find a bigger or better burger in Ohio. My only regret–I didn’t get a chance to try out the coney. After eating the burger I wouldn’t have had room for it anyway.
Best Burger Ever
I had the blue cheese burger with bacon and it was by far the best burger I have ever eaten. I will be going back often. The fries are also delicious. I can’t wait to go back next week.

I believe this has to be one of the Best Burger restaurants in Ohio. Had the Bleu Cheese Burger the first time. Juicy and Bleu Cheesey goodness!!! Second time around I was Thurmanized with the Thurman Burger. Definitely going to one of the most memoriable places to eat in Ohio. Keep up the good work. In fact open a second Thurmans Cafe!!!
More than burgers.. mmmm such good burgers
Thurman Cafe is known for its increadible, juicy, delicious, mouth watering burgers in a tight little atmosphere, but I would suggest adding a few other menu items to the passer-byer. For one, the fries are perfect. Big, fresh cut potatoes to douse in salt and vinigar are a meal in themselves, especially with chili!

this isn’t about spectacle. it’s about an excellent burger that happens to be huge. even if they were normal sized, they’d be worth all the hoopla. excellent wings, too. get a coney as an appetizer. homemade coney sauce is a winner.

I took my sons to experience the Thurman. We had a 2 hour wait. That didn’t matter. For Father’s Day, they spent $60 for gift certificates to treat me this time. Like Man vs. Food, Adam, I’m prepping for the best burgers in the Buckeye State.

Stopped in on a Monday afternoon. Several people in the place but finally got waited on. Only two servers. Really needed more. Worth the wait and not bad on the pocketbook. Had a blue cheese burger and it was awesome. Largest sucker I ever saw, could only eat half. Kids had a-1 burger, 3 cheese burger and hubby a shroom burger. They ate all of theirs. Get plenty of napkins, these babies are messy!!!

Heard about it on the travel channel and while visiting OSU went. Best decision ever. Hard to even look at pictures when your 2000 miles away. One hint of advice, dont eat breakfast the morning you eat the thurmanator.

I just recently moved away from the Columbus area, and I miss going to Thurmans once (or 2 or 3 times) a week. The staff is awesome, the food is awesome, and they are very knowledgeable about their drinks.

My first Thurman burger
I have no complaints about this quaint little restaurant thats anything but quaint. Nice ice cold beers, friendly and somewhat kooky owners/operators. Its family owned and operated so it’s all about quality. I had the Thurman burger which was worth the 1.5 hour wait. Even without the fries which were amazing. My next visit I believe I’ll definately be back and will bring friends.

I split the Thurmanator with my son (yes, we are whimps). With our expectations high for this first visit, we were not let down. It was everything we expected and more. God Bless the person that eats the intire burger. We will be back the next time we are in Columbus although we may opt to split just the Thurman. Great place, neighborhood feel, great hospitality and good eats!
First trip to Thurmans
I just made my 1st trip to Thurmans, and I would have to say that it was The best burger I have ever had. I had the Big Three Cheese Burger and it was fantastic. We had to wait 2 hours to get a table, but we were all glad that we did when we got our food. I know nobody wants to wait that long, but if you have good company and a cold beer it really was worth the wait.

Had never heard of the place before last night. Now I’m one of your BIGGEST fans. What an experience. Ate the Thurman burger in one sitting—no knife or fork, just two hands. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Special thanks to my daughter and her fiancee for letting me in on their little secret eatery. Worth the hour wait? YOU BET! A kooky restaurant, kooky clientele, and wonderful staff. I’ll be back and I’m bringing friends.

Thurman’s is the best burger in Columbus!
Thurman’s is by far the best burger I’ve had in Columbus. I’ve tried a different one every time and they are all delicious. I must say, the Pizza Burger is my favorite so far. The only bad thing about this place is the limited seating and consequent long waits around lunch and dinner time (especially on weekends). The burgers are definitely worth the wait though! I would recommend it to anyone who is VERY hungry and loves a good burger!

I’ve had burgers all over the place, but without a doubt the Thurman Cafe has the best in the world. I don’t know how they do it, but I don’t even mind waiting in the lobby for an hour or two. Fantastic, can’t wait to bring my family when they’re in town.

My husband and I took our friend to Thurman’s for his birthday lunch on Dec. 30. I’ve lived in Columbus for 10 years and have absolutely heard of Thurman’s, but had never gone. Now I cannot wait to go again!!!
My husband and friend had a Thurman Burger and they were in heaven. I had a reuben and it’s the best I’ve ever had… and the fried are to die for. I so look forward to going back and trying something else.

Had a great meal last night at your restaurant.
Was well worth the hour and a half that we waited.
I had the Bacon Cheddar Ranch burger and was thoroughly satisfied. My girlfriend had the Western burger and was also well pleased. The chicken cordon blue balls were a tasty treat that I would recommend to all. Don’t fear the blue balls!

The next time I go to Columbus, I will definitely go out of my way to ensure a trip to The Thurman Cafe. I recommend the Thurman Burger. If it is your first time here you should order the Thurman as is, and don’t order any extra sides or anything, the burger will be enough, trust me. Best burgers in the state!

I’m from the Pittsburgh PA area and I meet a friend of mine (who is in Cinci and named Thurman) there every other month. We get what we call the "thurman buffet". We get a basket of fries, a pepperoni pizza and hot wings. What more could you ask for? The staff is always friendly and courteous. I plan on being there again in July.
I CAN’T GET ENOUGH
I recently moved around the corner from the Thurman Cafe. I was 18 when I had my first burger. I started with a thurman burger. I’ve tried a selection of burgers from other joints, but nothing beats thurman! I’m addicted. The people are great the service is friendly and fun. I work at the local pastry shop, and I always recommend Thurman when people ask for a great place to eat. It doesn’t get any better than Thurman Cafe.

Thurman’s is our favorite date night destination!
My husband and I spent many of our dating days at Thurmans. My husband was attending OSU and I wouldvisit on the weekends from St. V’s Nursing School in Toledo. Now we are married and live in Findlay, Ohio. We have been known to drive the 200 mile round trip just for the gi-normous burgers and the Leine’s Red on tap. We love this place and recommend it to all we know!
